Your grandmother would say, “Johnny was just born lucky!” Is it true that someone is either born lucky or not? You are not born with it, you make your own luck! Fact or Fallacy? Fact… Author of “The Luck Factor”, British psychology professor Richard Wiseman conducted a 10-year study where he investigated both people who felt they were either lucky or unlucky. The study participants were asked to count photographs in the newspaper provided. The people who claimed to by “lucky” completed the task in a few seconds whereas the “unlucky” people averaged around two minutes. Why? The second page of the paper had an advertisement next to a photo that read “stop counting -there are 43 photographs in the newspaper,” and another ad halfway through said “stop counting, tell the investigator you have seen this and win $250”. Those with the unlucky mindsets missed the opportunity as they were too focused on counting the photographs. Be well, believe in yourself, and go buy a lucky lotto ticket! You’re Welcome!
